I had the best experience yesterday. My wife asked me to bring home Moon Hill stuff for gifts, in addition to everything else she gathers for our holiday circle of giving. In fact, she has been asking me for weeks now to bring stuff home, knowing that the Ale House was stocking up for the season. I kept delaying. I didn’t have the time to go into the merchandise area and look around and see what is good for whom. It was too much thinking. I had bar stools to fix, kegs to move, emails to write. I delayed more.
Hang on. I’m getting to the ‘best experience’ part.
So, one of my duties at the Moon Hill Brewing Co. is to manage the website, moonhillbrewing.com. We have a brand-new website. I maintain it, but did not design it, abiding by the well-worn aphorism, “Stay in your lane”. One of my biggest responsibilities in maintaining the website was to load the online shopping cart with all our beer, apparel and gift cards. It was daunting. I had to learn how the shopping cart works, how shipping was applied, how we get paid, who would get notifications of purchases, etc. And I had to get pics of everything, pricing. It was like climbing Mt. Monadnock, which I didn’t want to do. Again. Because one failed assent was enough. Another story.
And here is the best experience part. Sorry for the wait, but the setup was essential.
When I had finished setting up the shopping cart (yesterday), my wife, once again, reminded me to bring home Moon Hill swag for our circle, and then the eureka moment arrived and I said “Honey, why don’t you go online and pick things out there?” She and I hadn’t imagined it would be so easy. (Actually, she had, because she had laid it all on me.) I couldn’t believe this hadn’t crossed my mind before, that when I summited my proverbial Monadnock, there would be a reward beyond fresh air and selfies.
Now, I’m not even kidding. Within minutes of her going online and selecting shopping cart items and buying them, one of our wonderful managers walks into the office with a Moon Hill bag, full of the purchased items. He wanted to know if it was a joke, or if he should ship it. I said “here is fine”. The complex path from selecting, to purchasing, to assembly, to delivery, had worked flawlessly, the first time. I brought the haul home to accolades and much celebration (I had pizza with me) and my duties were complete, at least in this regard.
It could happen to you.
Gift Card Deal & Beer
Our Moon Hill shopping cart, 18 years late, is now up and running. There are gift cards (10% free gift card for gift card purchases of $200 or more), Moon Hill apparel, which will ship to you same day, Monday through Friday by UPS or FEDEX. And we have beer, 4-packs to go. The only thing with the beer is that we cannot ship it. So, you can order and buy online and pick it up anytime.
25% Off Moon Hill Apparel
And for Cyber Monday, we are offering 25% off all our apparel. If I were dead, I’d be turning over in my grave. Not in my strangest dreams did I ever imagine that Cyber Monday and I would ever be associated in any way whatsoever, myself being an old boomer, and of the mindset that people should be drinking, eating and playing during this season and not typing.
Online is what it is. You use it or you don’t We just finally caught up.
Also, please remember the great in-person experience! We are here. 7 days. You know that.
Thanks for being there.
